Background

Family Medicine and Community Health (FMCH) is an open-access, peer-reviewed international journal focusing on subjects that are common and relevant to family medicine/general practice and community health. The journal publishes on a quarterly basis relevant content across disciplines such as epidemiology, public health, social and preventive medicine, research and evidence based medicine, community health service, patient education and health promotion and health ethics. The journal has a specific focus on the management of chronic illness particularly diabetes, ischaemic heart disease, chronic heart failure, hypertension, bronchial asthma, chronic obstructive airways disease and common mental illness. The articles range from research to clinical practice, from education and training to management of community health centers.

Family Medicine and Community Health (FMCH) is a committed member of the Committee on Publication COPE member JM1276Ethics (COPE, http://publicationethics.org/). 
FMCH subscribers fully to the COPE code of conduct and best practice for journal editors ensuring that our editors are accountable for everything published in our journal. Our readers will always be informed about how the research is funded and our relationships with authors, reviewers and editorial board members will be influenced by COPE recommendations.

Family Medicine and Community Health (FMCH) was established by the Chinese General Practice Press as an internationally focused, peer reviewed open-access journal devoted to subjects that are common and relevant to family medicine/general practice and community health. The journal was developed to provide a medium for Chinese and international colleagues to engage and exchange knowledge in the provision of general practice and community health services. Thanks to the support of the Chinese Hospital Association and the National Health and Family Planning Commission of the People’s Republic of China, the journal is able to publish open access without charging author publication fees.
