We are delighted to announce that Family Medicine and Community Health is now a member of COPE, Committee on Publication Ethics (http://publicationethics.org/).
COPE provides advice to editors and publishers on all aspects of publication ethics and, in particular, how to handle cases of research and publication misconduct. To be accepted by COPE, journals must prove principles of transparency including operating a peer review process, having a governing body and editorial team, providing clear statements regarding copyright, and a process for identifying and dealing with allegations of research misconduct.
Family Medicine and Community Health is committed to the COPE code of conduct and best practice for journal editors ensuring that our editors are accountable for everything published in our journal. Our readers will always be informed about how the research is funded and our relationships with authors, reviewers and editorial board members will be influenced by COPE recommendations.
