The U.S.–China Symposium on Family Medicine and Community Health (FMCH) was held in Madison, Wisconsin, USA August 11-14, 2016. The symposium was directed by Kenneth Kushner, editorial board member of the journal of Family Medicine and Community Health (FMCH)
There were three main goals of the symposium. The first was to learn about advances in the United States that have relevance to the practice of primary care medicine in China and to the education and development of the workforce of health professionals involved in general practice and Community Health Services in China. The second was an exchange of ideas among Chinese health professionals about developments in general practice and community health services in China, and the third was to allow time for informal exchanges of ideas between the American speakers and participants from China.
